Volvo Cars Awarded the Most 2022 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ Awards of Any Manufacturer
Volvo Cars has earned 13 TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Having achieved the highest rating from IIHS for every model tested, including the fully-electric C40 Recharge, Volvo is the most awarded 2022 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ brand as of April 2022.
IIHS awards TSP+ status to vehicles that provide the highest level of safety. Volvo Cars received ten TSP+ awards in February and now three in April, totaling 13 awards for 2022.
Volvo Cars has a long-standing heritage in safety and sustainability. As the automaker looks ahead to a zero-emission future and ambition to be a fully electric car company by 2030, Volvo Cars continues to set the bar in both categories with six electric and plug-in hybrid models being recognized by IIHS.
To achieve this, Volvo Cars ensures that safety systems such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian, and cyclist detection are standard in all of its vehicles, while many competitors still offer them only as options.
“We are proud that IIHS has once again recognized our vehicles, including six electric and hybrid models, with Top Safety Pick Plus awards,” said Anders Gustafsson, President and CEO of Volvo Car USA.
