The Volvo EX40 has been crowned the Mid-Sized SUV of the Year in the prestigious News UK Motor Awards. Announced at a presentation ceremony in London yesterday, the award reflects expert opinion across the media group’s publications and platforms, including The Sun, The Sunday Times and Driving.co.uk.

Choice is a key element in the EX40’s market appeal, with a current line-up that features five equipment grades and four electric powertrains with two- or all-wheel drive. The powertrain options allow customers to select the balance of power and range that best suits their driving needs: Single Motor, Single Motor Extended Range, Twin Motor and Twin Motor Performance offer a maximum driving range of between 296 and 343 miles*.
The EX40 displays Volvo’s cool, contemporary styling inside and out, matching this to equipment specifications that meet all the priorities of today’s consumers. For example, the entry-level Core versions include wireless phone charging, a rear parking camera, powered tailgate and a 9.0-inch central touchscreen with built-in Google functions. Mid-level Plus versions add an energy-saving heat pump, advanced air-purification system, a heated steering wheel and safety awareness technologies including BLIS blind spot monitoring and Cross Traffic Alert. Move up to range-topping Ultra specification and the package includes a 360-degree parking camera system, panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon premium sound system and advanced Pixel LED headlights. Plus and Ultra EX40s are also available as a Black Edition, which brings extra style emphasis with high-gloss black exterior detailing, 20-inch five-spoke high-gloss black alloy wheels and Onyx Black paintwork.
