JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) is developing a new cutting-edge facility in Portland, Ore. dedicated to further enhancing the company’s software development and product engineering innovation. This new office represents the luxury car manufacturer’s renewed commitment to Portland where it has operated an office since 2013 as a key component of JLR’s Product Engineering network.
Developed by Langley Investment, a private real estate investment company, 80 JLR employees will be based at the new 50,000 sq. ft. office which will take residency at the Redfox Commons, nestled in Portland’s vibrant Northwest district. The complex, which will be managed by The Instant Group, has distinguished design features that have been noted by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Honor Award and the DeMuro Award for Excellence in Preservation, Resue, and Revitalization, among others.
I’m super excited to share that we are expanding our software hub in Portland, USA as we grow our global software development capabilities. The new cutting-edge facility is central to developing innovative technology to advance software development and user experience design – a key element in how we deliver a modern luxury experience for our clients. There is a wealth of tech skills in Portland which we can explore, ensuring we harness the best talent for JLR.

JLR first opened an office in Portland in 2013 and has since laid down deep roots through partnerships with government and regulatory agencies, participation in technology and industry advocacy groups, and support of nonprofits supporting access to technology, workforce training for underrepresented groups, and community betterment.
This expansion is an exciting moment for our Portland operation as we continue our work designing the digital space, including user facing features known and loved by users of JLR’s brands and vehicles, and supporting partners on the west coast. We’re proud of the talent at our facility that delivers the latest technology to address critical driving information, infotainment, speech interaction, and more that are of high importance to our customers.
